Georgia Avenue borders the neighborhood to the east, Emerson Street to the north, 16th Street to the west, and Rock Creek Church Road and Spring Road to the south. It is home to various restaurants, shops, and businesses and a vibrant arts scene. Several significant portions of the housing stock in this community have been updated and renovated in recent years. During the 1920s and 1930s, Cafritz Builders built brick row houses in Petworth.
At the intersection of Georgia Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue, the Georgia Ave - Petworth Metro Station serves the community. They also constructed commercial buildings, including a bank and a theater, to facilitate the neighborhood's growth.
